RDF Television secures industry Award Nominations from BAFTA TV and Televisual

19 April, 2017

RDF Television, part of Banijay UK, are excited to announce that their ‘Secret Life of’ strand has received two industry awards nominations.
‘The Secret Live of Five Year Olds’ is nominated in the ‘Factual and Constructed Reality’ category for BAFTA TV, and
‘The Secret Life of Siblings’ has been nominated in the ‘Fixed Rig’ category in the Televisual Bulldog awards.

RDF have enjoyed a raft of nominations this year for ‘The Secret Life’, kicking off the award season by winning a coveted Grierson Award for Best Entertaining Documentary, as well as receiving further nominations from Broadcast, The Royal Television Society and BAFTA Craft.

Facing strong competition in the both categories from ‘First Dates’ (C4), ‘The Job Interview’ (C4), ’24 Hours in Police Custody’(C4), ‘Muslims like Us (BBC2) and ‘The Real Marigold Hotel’ (BBC2), RDF hopes to scoop the gongs to add to their ever growing collection.

‘The Secret Life of’ strand has continually been a ratings smash for Channel 4, often taking the best performing slot title on day of transmission, regularly trending number 1 on Twitter when on-air, with both the Press and audiences taking the show to their hearts.

Jim Allen, Managing Director of RDF Television commented “We are all delighted that Secret Life of Four Year Olds has, again, been nominated for a BAFTA. We competed and lost last year, so fingers crossed that this year we cross the line first in what is bound to be a blanket photo finish between a host of great shows”.

The new series of ‘The Secret Life of’ is currently in production and will broadcast on Channel 4 later this year.

The Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards reward the very best in Television broadcast on British screens during the preceding year. The ceremony will be held on Sunday 14 May, in London.

The Televisual Bulldog Awards give you the chance to have your say about the best British programmes of 2016 and are voted for by the entire UK Production community – voting is open now with the awards taking place in June at the Café Royal in London.
