Massimo Del Frate

Head of Drama

Massimo Del Frate is an expert in TV drama production across multiple platforms. His experience spans from Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset to global content producer EndemolShine.

Between 1985 and 2002, he worked at Mediaset, first as Head of Scripted Programming for the organisation’s flagship channel, Canale 5, and then as the channel’s editorial supervisor for original drama productions.

In 2002, he joined Endemol Italy as Head of Drama and grew the company’s scripted division, making it one of the leading TV drama production entities in the Italian market. Massimo held this position until May 2018 and over 16 years, he created a wide range of scripted shows including TV movies, sitcoms, the two most successful and longest-running Italian soap operas, and several of the biggest multi-season primetime series of Rai1 and Canale 5.
