    NL Film, a Banijay company, today announces new senior leadership structure with Sabine Brian taking up the post of Managing Director and Diederik van Rooijen of Creative Director.

    Diederik van Rooijen, the TV and film director of hit NL Film series, Penoza, will start his new role in March, where he will be jointly responsible for the development and sales of new drama series and films.

    In his new position, Van Rooijen will work closely with Sabine Brian, who has been promoted to Managing Director. Formerly a producer at the company, her recent credits include The Resistance Banker, Stanley H, Commandos and Penoza: The Final Chapter. Joining Brian in the management of NL Film is Ronald Versteeg, who will continue his role as Business Director. Together, they are responsible for the daily running of the production company.

    Former Creative Director Kaja Wolffers leaves the company after more than ten years to pursue a role at Amazon Prime.

    Diederik van Rooijen, Creative Director NL Film comments: “I am really looking forward to embarking on this adventure together with Sabine and Ronald, in addition to developing NL Film’s portfolio within the Dutch and international market. Nowadays, films and series are available all over the world, so it is even more important to distinguish yourself with creativity.”

    In addition to recruiting Diederik van Rooijen, Boudewijn Rosenmuller, currently working as Creative Producer at NL Film, has been appointed Head of Development.

    Banijay today confirms Marcus Wolter will lead its German operations following the recent acquisition of Endemol Shine Group. As Banijay Germany’s CEO and Co-Partner, he will oversee the country’s portfolio of companies which include Brainpool, for which he also acts as MD, Banijay Productions, Good Times, Endemol Shine Germany, MadeFor, Raab TV, Lucky Pics and MTS Künstler Management among others.

     

    Representing the group’s ethos of “storymaking set free”, Banijay Germany is a leading collective of independent entertainment producers and creative entrepreneurs. Investing in innovative and fresh content that is born locally and travels globally, the business is behind some of the country’s best-loved productions including Masked Singer (ProSieben), Schlag den Star (Beat the Star) (ProSieben), Wer wird Millionär? (Who Wants to be a Millionaire) (RTL), Tatort Weimar und Tatort Dresden (Das Erste), Temptation Island (TVNow / RTL), Promi Big Brother (Celebrity Big Brother) (Sat.1), Promis unter Palmen (Sat.1), Kitchen Impossible (VOX), Luke! Die Greatnightshow (Sat.1) and Free European Song Contest (ProSieben).

     

    Wolter joined the business back in 2018 from Endemol Shine Germany, where he was CEO, and Chairman Northern Europe for Endemol Shine Group.

     

    The country’s newly finalised structure also sees Fabian Tobias, currently Managing Director of Brainpool’s Show and Factual Division, take up the role of Managing Director for Endemol Shine Germany. He will be joined by Ute März, who has been appointed co-CEO of the entity, having served as Chief Finance Officer since 2002. The leaders of Banijay Germany’s other entities remain unchanged.

    Magnus Kastner, who has served as CEO at Endemol Shine Germany since 2018, will step down from his role.

    Banijay today reveals it has tapped Chief Executive Officer, Pilar Blasco, to lead all operations for Banijay Iberia, while Paolo Bassetti remains in post for Banijay Italy. Both will spearhead their respective regions’ leading collective of production labels and creative talent, with Iberia’s main activities spanning Madrid, Barcelona, Galicia, Vitoria and Lisbon and Italy’s through Milan and Rome.

     

    Across Iberia, Blasco’s footprint will include eight labels. Incorporating Gestmusic, Diagonal, Shine Iberia, Cuarzo Producciones, Zeppelin Television, DLO Magnolia, Endemol Portugal and Tuiwok, it will be the group behind the best entertainment brands – MasterChef, Radio GagaTu Cara Me Suena, La Isla De Las Tentaciones, Big Brother – and original scripted titles – HierroAmar Es Para Siempre and The Idhun Chronicles. Comprising ten production entities including Banijay Italia, Endemol Shine Italy and Banijay Studios Italy, Banijay Italy will be the home of some of the country’s top brands including Grande Fratello(Big Brother), MasterChef Italia, Temptation Island, L’Isola dei Famosi(Celebrity Survivor), El legado, Identity, Che tempo che fa, Il paradiso delle signore and Bake Off Italia.

    Blasco, former CEO of EndemolShine Iberia, has led the group there for five years. Building a multi-genre and multi-platform business, she is credited with driving the roll-out of Your Face Sounds Familiar, which first launched in 2011 and has since been sold to 40 territories, including the U.S., U.K. and China, and across Europe, Latin America and Asia. Between 2011 and 2015, she was managing director of Endemol Spain, having also led the company’s Madrid-based arm, Zeppelin TV.

     

    Bassetti has been CEO of Banijay Italy for two years. Previously, he served as CEO and Chairman of Endemol Shine Group’s Italian arm and was a member of the International Board. During these years he brought successful shows such as Grande Fratello(Big Brother), La prova del cuoco(Ready Steady Cook), Caduta Libera(Still Standing), Avanti un altro(Next One), Affari Tuoi (Deal or no Deal), I Soliti Ignoti (Identity), Tale e Quale show(Your Face Sounds Familiar) and scripted titles Vivere,Centro Vetrineand L’Allieva.
