    Media and entertainment powerhouse, Banijay, today announces the adaptation of Michel Bussi’s gripping novel Rien ne t’efface for TF1, a co-production with Shine Fiction, part of Banijay France.

    The 6 x 52-minute series is written by Anne Rambach, Marine Rambach, Patrick Renault, and Michel Bussi and directed by Jerome Cornuau. Set against the haunting backdrop of Auvergne, it follows the story of Maddi, a mother grappling with the loss of her son, Esteban, in a tragic accident a decade ago. The plot thickens when she encounters Tom, a boy who not only bears an uncanny resemblance to Esteban, but also has visions and memories of him. Stirring a series of events that intertwine their fates with a mysterious string of murders, Maddi can’t help but wonder if these events are linked to his death. Who is Tom and what is his connection to her son?

    Shine Fiction officially launched in September 2021, building a pipeline of ambitious premium content for the French market, with international potential. The company is behind latest thriller Broceliande, a co-production with Les Films du Printemps for TF1 which premiered at Cannes Series earlier this month.

    Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of content powerhouse Banijay, today announces that powerful French drama Serial Lover – from Banijay France scripted label Shine Fiction – has been acquired by Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia.

    The co-production with Amaury Fournial (Sibaro Films) for M6 in France will air on Atresmedia following an agreement negotiated by Marion Vergnaud, SVP Italy, Iberia & Malta, Banijay Rights.

    Written by Alice Den Broek and directed by Fred Berthe, Serial Lover is the story of a shrewd man who lives many different lives: a pilot, a surgeon, a broker, a journalist; developing a new personality for every identity and deceiving experts in each field. Handsome, charming, and attentive, exhilarated by his power, the deception becomes an art form as he manipulates all those around him, especially women who he targets and steals from. How many women have fallen in this trap?

    Serial Lover stars Flora Bonaventura, Helena Nogera, Odile Vuillemin, Elodie Frégé, and Jonathan Zacaï, and Banijay Rights handles international sales for the series.

    Serial Lover marked the debut order for Shine Fiction, which officially launched in September 2021, building a pipeline of ambitious premium content for the French market, with international potential. Earlier this month, the label announced latest thriller, Brocéliande, a coproduction with Les Films du Printemps for TF1. Banijay Rights handles international distribution for the drama.

    Banijay France today announces scripted label, Shine Fiction, has landed its first commission since launching with Dominique Farrugia last year. Serial Lover is a co-production with Amaury Fournial (Sibaro Films) and will be distributed by Banijay Rights.

    Written by Alice Den Broek and directed by Fred Berthe, Serial Lover is the story of a shrewd man who lives many different lives – a pilot, a surgeon, a broker, a journalist; developing a new personality for every identity and deceiving experts in each field.  Handsome, charming, and attentive, exhilarated by his power, the deception becomes an art form as he manipulates all those around him, especially women who he targets and steals from.  How many women have fallen in this trap?

    For the victims, the consequences are heavy, they become isolated from their families, humiliated, and bankrupt. Joining forces to confront the man, they must overcome their prejudices, and even endanger their own shattered lives as they attempt to corner this dangerous predator. Serial Lover stars Flora Bonaventura, Helena Nogera, Odile Vuillemin, Elodie Frégé, and Jonathan Zacaï.

    Serial Lover will premiere at La Rochelle next month.

    Sibaro Films, launched in July 2019, strives to develop original French creations in close collaboration with broadcasters wishing to invest in ambitious works. The company is developing three series and one comedy, all based on true stories that go beyond fiction.

The company has multiple series in development, including a 90-minute special for France 2, and a deal with talent agent Camille Trumer, giving the company the rights to adapt bestselling novels by Pierre Lemaitre.

    Banijay France today announces Dominique Farrugia is set to lead EndemolShine Fiction as Managing Director. Taking up the post on 2 November 2020, he will now oversee all of the business’ scripted operations and pipeline of premium content.

     

    Farrugia joins Banijay France’s production label from STUDIOCANAL, where he was Deputy Managing Director, having joined as Deputy General Manager of Productions in 2017. Beginning his career in radio at Europe 1 and RTL, he was recruited by CANAL at the time of its channel launch in 1984. Going on to co-found the comedy quartet, Les Nuls, he then took up a position behind-the-camera, making seven films. In 2002, he became Managing Director of CANAL and its programming, before becoming President. From there, in 2003, he founded production company FEW (Farrudg Entertainment Worldwide) before signing a partnership with EuropaCorpin 2012 on feature films. EuropaCorpthen appointed him Director in charge of its French-language output. In his new role at EndemolShine Fiction, he will maintain his first-look agreement with STUDIOCANAL on any film projects from his production company, One Again.

     

    At EndemolShine Fiction, Farrugia will report to Banijay France’s Chief Executive Officer, François de Brugada.
