Rogue Heroes
Rogue Heroes, based on the best-selling novel by Ben Macintyre, is a dramatized account of how the world’s greatest Special Forces unit (SAS) was formed during World War Two. Rich with action, Rogue Heroes is the exhilarating story of renegade men taking monumental risks in extraordinary circumstances.
Connor Swindells (Sex Education, Vigil) will star as David Stirling, an eccentric young officer who is convinced that traditional commando units don’t work. He therefore joins a small undercover unit in 1941 which creates mayhem behind enemy lines. The toughest and boldest soldiers’ recruited are as complicated, flawed and reckless as they are brave and heroic. Joining Swindells in the cast of Rogue Heroes is Jack O’Connell (Skins, The North Water), Alfie Allen (Jojo Rabbit, Game of Thrones), Sofia Boutella (Modern Love, Atomic Blonde) and Dominic West (The Wire, Appropriate Adult) amongst others.
Rogue Heroes is developed for television and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo, A Christmas Carol) and will be directed by Tom Shankland (The Serpent, The Missing), with Stephen Smallwood (The Serpent, Patrick Melrose) as producer. The series is executive produced by Karen Wilson, Martin Haines and Emma Kingsman-Lloyd for Kudos, and Tommy Bulfin for the BBC.
