Stéphane Courbit

Chairman

Stéphane Courbit is a French entrepreneur and Chairman of Banijay Group. He started his career as a producer for Coyote and in 1994, he formed a partnership with TV producer and host Arthur to create Case Productions, later called ASP Productions. In 1998, Endemol merged with ASP Productions to form Endemol France and Courbit was appointed CEO. In 2006, he sold his shares before leaving the group in 2007 to create LOV Group, which would concentrate investment in growing markets such as audiovisual production, luxury hotels, the Internet and energy sectors. In January 2008, Courbit created Banijay Group, and in 2016, he triggered the merger between Banijay Group and Zodiak Media, making him the leader of the world’s largest independent production and distribution company (1 billion Euro business), responsible for global hit brands including Temptation Island, Survivor, Wife Swap and Versailles.

Marco Bassetti

CEO

Bassetti serves as CEO of the world’s largest independent content producer and distributor, Banijay Group. With a catalogue that includes Survivor, Temptation Island, Shipwrecked, Catch!, Wife Swap, Versailles and Fort Boyard, the business operates across 16 territories globally with a portfolio that comprises of 62 production entities. With a strong track-record in the international content business, entrepreneur Bassetti’s television career took off in the early 1980s, as an executive producer for Mondadori's Rete Quattro before moving to Mediaset. In 1986, he founded his own production company, La Italiana Produzioni, and a few years later, he set up Aran. Between 1994 and 1997, he was CEO of Pearson TV Italy and in December 1997, he started Endemol Italy, working as Managing Director and then President until May 2004, when he stepped down to dedicate more time to entrepreneurial activities in Italy and abroad. Still remaining on Endemol's International Board, in October 2007, he returned to the Group as COO and in August 2009, was appointed President before taking over the responsibility of Group CEO. Stepping down in 2012, he then opened Ambra Multimedia before, in 2013, taking on the role of CEO at Banijay Group.

Peter Langenberg 

COO

Based in London and Paris, Peter is the Chief Operating Officer for Banijay Group. He was appointed to the role in November 2016 and is responsible for the Banijay Group operations in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Russia, India and the Netherlands, next to his focus on building synergies and increasing development opportunities. Prior to joining Banijay Group, Peter was VP Business Management at Warner Bros International TV Production, a role he held from 2011 to 2016. Before that he was COO for R&D Media Holding and 3 Circles Media Holding. Peter also spent ten years with Endemol, where his roles included Executive Director of Operations for Latin America and later for the entire Endemol Group, and Managing Director Entertainment for Endemol Nederland B.V.

Sophie Kurinckx

Group CFO

Sophie Kurinckx started her career in 2000 as an auditor for KPMG. In 2005, she joined JCDecaux as Deputy Head of Group consolidation and Group IFRS specialist. Sophie joined Banijay Group in 2010 as Head of Group Financial Controls, in 2012 she was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer.

Nicolas Chazarain

Group Chief Legal Officer

Nicolas Chazarain is the Group Chief Legal Officer – he was appointed to this role in July 2017. Prior to joining Banijay Group, Nicolas was a M&A and corporate lawyer. As partner at De Gaulle, Fleurance & Associés until 2017, he was involved in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate law, securities law, as well as in restructuring distressed companies. Before that, Nicolas exercised at Slaughter and May in Paris and London and Bredin Prat in Paris.

Marie Schweitzer

EVP Strategy & Business Development

Marie Schweitzer is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. She was appointed to this role in September 2016. Marie joined Banijay Group at its launch in 2008, as co-Head of Market Research. Since then, she has held various positions in the company including Head of Creative Factory, Content Manager and Head of Content, overseeing the development and circulation of Group formats. Prior to joining Banijay, Marie worked at Endemol France as Head of Market Research following several years in production. Marie also leads a seminar at Sciences Po Paris (Master in Communications): “The International Market of TV Formats: Fundamentals and Challenges”.

Tim Mutimer

Head of Distribution

Tim Mutimer is Head of Distribution for Banijay Group and has been appointed CEO at Banijay Rights in 2016, the international distribution arm of Banijay Group. He is responsible for teams in London, Paris and Copenhagen handling sales and acquisitions for programming across all genres. Tim joined the former Zodiak Rights in 2013 from BBC Worldwide where he led and developed sales strategies for key global brands such as Top Gear and Sherlock. Prior to his tenure at the BBC, he was Director of Sales at ITV Global Entertainment leading global content sales and international format launches for a diverse catalogue of programming which included Poirot, Prime Suspect and Come Dine With Me.

Carlotta Rossi Spencer

Head of Format Acquisitions

Carlotta Rossi Spencer serves as Head of Format Acquisitions for Banijay Group, the world's largest independent content producer and distributor responsible for leading Unscripted brands: Temptation Island, Survivor, Wife Swap, The Secret Life of Four-Year Olds, The Legacy and Fort Boyard. Working across the Group's 16-territory footprint, Carlotta is charged with acquiring Unscripted formats with cross-country appeal for the company's 70+ entities. Overseeing the process from industry analysis to negotiation and completion, she has established strong relationships worldwide, making Banijay a top destination and go-to for content developers, distributors and brand managers alike. Additionally, she is tasked with seeking out external co-development and co-production opportunities. In leading operations in Unscripted acquisitions, Carlotta also provides high-level consultancy to the Group's production labels in the local roll-out of all formats acquired. Prior to Banijay Group, Carlotta held several roles in research and development, having begun her career in journalism and communications.

Lucas Green

Head of Content

Lucas Green joined Banijay Group in January 2018. Within the group he is responsible for overseeing unscripted content output and supersizing Banijay’s development pipeline. Lucas chairs the Banijay Group Creative Board and drives the Banijay Pilot Fund which is responsible for bringing new non-fiction formats to life. Lucas’ key mission is to work with creative leaders in the group companies to champion creativity and grow the new and existing catalogue of intellectual property. Before joining Banijay, Lucas ran his own production company and also has held roles at Fremantle, BBC and Shine Group.

Anne Van Sprang

Group HR Director

Based in Paris, Group HR Director, Anne Van Sprang, acts as strategic HR partner for the business, consulting on the worldwide structure and operations, the acquisition and retention of talent, best practice and employee engagement, among other areas. Anne joined Banijay Group from Kering Group, where she was integral to devising and executing the HR strategy for Kering Technologies, as well as overseeing the HR function across 13 territories. Prior to this, she served as Human Resources Director at Canal +, providing full HR support to the Technical and Digital Division, where she contributed to the digital transformation of the Group. Anne has also held roles at TDF Group and Carrefour.

Nick Young

Group Brand and Commercial Director

Nick Young serves as Group Director of Brand and Commercial and is responsible for exploring and activating business growth and commercial opportunities across digital, ancillary rights and new business. Partnering with its 50+ production entities globally, he is concentrated on IP exploitation for the Group’s leading brands. He joined Banijay Group from NBCUniversal International Studios, where he was Director of Brand Management & Commercial across the company’s slate of titles. During his time there, he crafted a profitable lifestyle brand from Downton Abbey and led on the development, roll-out and overall management of Downton Abbey: The Exhibition, brokered a number of product placement, digital content and retail partnerships for brands including Made in Chelsea as well as spearheading online and digital activities across the slate of shows. Nick started his career in the Business Operations team for Comcast International Media Group’s network of PayTV channels, which included E! Entertainment and Style.

Kate Humphreys

Director of Group Communications

As Director of Group Communications, Kate Humphreys is responsible for setting and executing Banijay Group’s internal and external corporate communications strategy. Based in London, she works across the group’s 16 territories, partnering closely with the executive team to manage and promote the company’s profile and its talent worldwide. Also collaborating with the Group’s HR function, she oversees all internally-facing communication activities, campaigns and events.
Kate joined the business in 2018 from NBCUniversal International Studios, where she was Communications Director. There she supported the central, formats and production teams to manage all corporate and executive profiling efforts, consumer brand positioning and employee engagement activity. Prior to NBCUniversal, she led the PR efforts at Warner Bros. TV Production UK.
