In Porn Laid Bare, six British people in their 20s with different attitudes to pornography visit Spain to explore its sprawling adult film industry. Meeting producers, performers, the police and their informants, the group immerses themselves in one of Europe’s biggest pornography production hubs where they’ll confront ugly truths and complex dilemmas. They’ll discover who makes porn; how they make it; why they make it; and who makes the money. The group also explores the impact that pornography is having on the brain, body, relationships, sex life and on wider society. In the end, can the group reconcile what they see with their own values? Is there an ethical alternative to mainstream porn, or should access to porn be restricted?
At $100bn, the global arms trade is at its highest value since the Cold War. A fast-paced, humorous and eye-popping series, Young And Pretty Minted is an entertaining look at a fresh new breed of business people. Cyber capitalists are making big money out of online gaming, Instagram and YouTube, so opening up a wonderful world of profit never seen before. 24-year-old Erin is a businesswoman, model and social influencer. Designers and fashion houses pay her up to £900 each time she posts a single Instagram photo of herself wearing one of their outfits. 22-year-old online superstar ‘The Gonth’ has made masses of money without even leaving his bedroom. His YouTube videos are viewed by millions, and sponsors queue up to have their names associated with him. And 29-year-old Toni, who lives on an industrial estate, is a very respectable looking, young businesswoman, making good money producing the raunchiest range of greetings cards known to humankind.
Alex Skeel is a 23-year-old man who survived the most horrific abuse during his relationship with girlfriend, Jordan Worth. Abused By My Girlfriend is a thought-provoking film that reveals Alex’s shocking testimony and meets his family and friends who share their stories as they watched him slowly fall under her control, powerless to stop it and unaware of how bad it would get. Police described Alex’s case as one of the most extreme cases of domestic violence they had ever dealt with. Jordan was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison becoming the first female in the UK to be convicted of coercive and controlling behaviour. By sharing his story, Alex hopes to challenge assumptions about violence and masculinity in relationships, and empower victims of domestic violence to come forward.
The Man Who Used HIV As A Weapon is a powerful documentary that tells the intimate and shocking accounts of five men who were abused by Daryll Rowe – the first ever person in the UK to be convicted of deliberately infecting others with HIV. The men in this film have waived their anonymity, breaking their silence to speak publicly for the first time. Some have never even told their families before. These multiple perspectives build a gripping account of how, over 18 months, Daryll Rowe set out on a dangerous, nationwide campaign to trick men into having unprotected sex with him. This film hears first-hand how he would lie about his HIV status, sabotage condoms and later send abusive text messages taunting them with the fact they are now infected with HIV.
