    Content powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, today announces Endemol Shine Brasil, a Banijay Entertainment company, will produce MasterChef: Dessert Masters for Brazilian broadcaster, Band. The commisson marks the first international adaptation of the Endemol Shine Australia-created spin-off format. It will air in the market on 19 November 2024. 

    Behind hit shows including MasterChef Australia and Married at First Sight Australia, Endemol Shine Australia’s MasterChef: Dessert Masters is the ninth spin-off of the global hit format. Launching on Network 10 in November 2023, it has already been recommissioned for a second season. Known locally in Brazil as MasterChef Confeitaria, it will premiere on Band in the same year MasterChef Brasil celebrates a decade on-air. The series will be hosted by Ana Paula Padrão with Henrique Fogaça, Helena Rizzo, Diego Lozano, and Erick Jacquin confirmed as judges. 

     MasterChef: Dessert Masters sees the country’s top pastry and dessert chefs go head-to-head in a range of challenging tasks, with the series concluding in the Grand Finale where the final three battle it out to be crowned champion. Promising excellence and high-calibre cuisine, the show blends precision and creativity to serve up drama as a host of professionals put their reputations on the line.

    MasterChef: Dessert Masters now joins Banijay Entertainment’s vast catalogue of travelling formats, alongside recent hits like Good Luck Guys, Love Triangle, The Summit and The Fifty; and superbrands MasterChef, Big Brother and Survivor. 

    Represented internationally by Banijay Entertainment, MasterChef is the world’s most successful cookery television format (Guinness World Records) and was crowned Spin-Off Superstar in last year’s K7 report. Now commissioned across 70 markets, the life-changing show has aired over 700 seasons and more than 16,000 episodes to-date. Created by Franc Roddam and first launched in 1990, the superbrand is known and enjoyed across the globe.

    Banijay, the world’s largest group in content production and distribution, announces the opening of Banijay Estúdios in Brazil, the largest independent audiovisual production complex in Latin America. Spanning over 60,000 square meters, the facility was envisioned by Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas, Laurens Drillich, President of Endemol Shine Latino, and Nani Freitas, CEO of Endemol Shine Brasil.

    The complex also includes an extensive green area and three studios with the following sizes: Studio A, with 3,434m2; Studio B, with 6,383m2; and Studio C, with 1,094m2. Compared to the largest studio in one of São Paulo’s most renowned complexes (1,211 square meters), Banijay Estúdios stands out due to its size.

    Furthermore, the complex offers a variety of options for productions of all sizes, whether they are audiovisual or various types of events. The new facility is located in Guarulhos, just a few kilometers from São Paulo’s international airport. Since the beginning of the year, the complex has hosted projects from major TV networks and streaming services.

    Banijay, the world’s leading producer and distributor of international content, is set to open the largest independent production studio facility in Latin America, Banijay Studios Brasil, in 2023, it was announced today by Ben Samek, President and Chief Operating Officer, Banijay Americas.

    Based in São Paulo, Banijay Studios Brasil is nearly 250,000 square feet (more than 70,000 m2) and will welcome third-party TV and film clients alike. The studio deal was led by Samek, Endemol Shine Latino President Laurens Drillich and Endemol Shine Brasil CEO Nani Freitas.

    The studio will be managed by the team at Endemol Shine Brasil, the leading independent studio in Brasil, behind many of the nation’s top-rated unscripted series.

    The studio will offer a variety of options for productions of all sizes, with indoor and outdoor facilities, world-class technology, scenography sheds and modern office space for producers and talent. The new facility is being built in Guarulhos, located just miles from São Paulo’s international airport and is expected to open its doors next spring.

    “We are always looking for new opportunities to grow our business and strengthen our local production companies and at the same time, enhance the quality of our shows,” says Drillich. “So, when the team at Endemol Shine Brasil came to us with a plan to build a studio complex in São Paulo, we were immediately interested. There is currently a huge demand for studio space in Brasil, a very important market for us, with one of the most engaged audiences in the world and endless possibilities. Our parent company at Banijay recognized this made a lot of sense and quickly made the necessary investments to make Banijay Studios Brasil a reality.”

    Endemol Shine Brasil, the top independent production company in the world’s sixth most populous nation, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month and enjoying record success.

    A division of Banijay, the world’s largest producer and distributor of international content, Endemol Shine Brasil produced a record number of original series in 2021 and is set to top that level of production this year with shows across leading Brasilian broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

    The studio currently produces hits for Globo, Netflix, HBO Max, Band, Discovery Home & Health, Record, MTV, GNT and numerous other outlets. And it’s behind such hit series as Love Is Blind, MasterChef, Survivor, All Together Now, Rio Shore, The Rolling Kitchen, Iron Chef, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Wall, Masked Singer, Queen Stars and recently launched MasterChef+.

     Endemol Shine Brasil was recently honored as the top production company in the nation at the Caboré Awards and two of its series, The Masked Singer Brasil and The Bridge Brasil, were on the shortlist for the prestigious Rose d’Or Award. In 2022, Endemol Shine Brasil will have produced more than 20 original series, up 21% vs. it’s 2021 output.

     Five years ago, Endemol Shine Brasil launched a branded content team and the studio has now successfully developed and produced original series with leading brands such as Pantene, Stella Artois, Beats, Skol, Budweiser, Samsung, and many others.

    Brazilians spend, on average, almost eight hours a day on broadcast, pay TV, video games and streaming – more than twice the global average of 2 hours and 55 minutes, according to Kantar Ibope.

    Endemol Shine Brasil, a Banijay company, today announces that brand new iteration, MasterChef Senior, known locally as MasterChef+, is set for Band. The commission follows the success of the MasterChef Senior specials, produced by Shine Iberia for La 1.

    The latest MasterChef spin-off showcases the culinary skills of the older generation, and is a celebration of their experience, resilience, and knowledge. The novice chefs aged 60 and above take to the infamous MasterChef kitchen to battle it out and create food to impress even the harshest critics. This commission follows the recently announced new iteration MasterChef: Young Talent, coming soon to Denmark and Norway.

    Originally airing as standalone specials in 2020 and 2021, MasterChef Senior in Spain, exceeded the slot average by over 60%.
