    Banijay today announces Endemol Shine Boomdog, part of Banijay Americas, will produce Are You For Real? (Cuál es el Bueno?) alongside TelevisaUnivision. The new show is a format developed by Endemol Shine Boomdog, Endemol Shine Italy and TelevisaUnivision.

    In this hilarious and unpredictable guessing game, three contestants take to the stage with a supposed talent, job, or characteristic. However, only one individual is telling the truth, but who is it? That is up to the three famous guests to figure out. Known as the ‘fake hunters’, the celebrities, through questions and intuition, must put their pride, intelligence, and audacity on the line as they decide who is telling the truth and who is a master of deception. Representing different sections of the studio audience, the celebrity is aiming to collect as many points as possible by correctly identifying the person telling the truth. A person sitting within the winning ‘fake hunter’s’ section will then be in with a chance of winning the huge sum of 50 thousand pesos.

    Javier Perez Teuffer Lopez has been named Senior Vice President, Operations & Business Affairs, Endemol Shine Boomdog, it was announced today by Alejandro Rincon, Endemol Shine Boomdog’s CEO.

     

    Perez Teuffer joins Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, from Sony Pictures Television’s Teleset Mexico, where he most recently served as Executive Director, Operations. Prior to that, he spent nearly 15 years at Televisa in various roles, including Director of Finance and Operations, Entertainment, for Grupo Televisa from 2016-2019.

     

    In his new position, Perez Teuffer will oversee Endemol Shine Boomdog’s physical production efforts, business affairs, facilities, IT and general services. He will be based at Boomdog’s Mexico City offices and report directly to Rincon.

     

    “We are thrilled to have someone with Javier’s vast operational experience joining our team here at Endemol Shine Boomdog,” says Rincon. “He is the perfect executive to oversee our production efforts as we look to continue ramping up our programming output in 2021.”

     

    Added Perez Teuffer, “I am so honored to be part of the Endemol Shine family. I hope my experience and hard work can help Endemol Shine Boomdog accomplish its goals and continue growing as they have done so successfully in recent years.”

     

    For the last year, Perez Teuffer oversaw operations for Sony Pictures Television’s Teleset Mexico and was a member of Sony Pictures Television’s Latin America strategy committee.

     

    Previously, Perez Teuffer spent nearly 15 years at Televisa in Mexico, rising through the company’s ranks to his last role as Director of Finance and Operations, Entertainment, for Grupo Televisa. In that role, he led all TV rights and license negotiations, strategy and financial planning and oversaw the company’s annual production budget. Perez Teuffer also served in a variety of roles for Televisa International, including Strategic Planning Coordinator from 2014-2016.

     

    Endemol Shine Boomdog currently produces such hit series as MasterChef Mexico (Azteca), Mira Quien Baila (Television/Univision), Quién es la Máscara (Televisa/Univision), Nicky Jam: El Ganador (Netflix), LOL (Amazon), Me Caigo de Risa (Televisa), Súbete a mi Moto (Amazon) and Tu Cara Me Suena (Univision).

     

    Boomdog is also home to Latin superstar actress Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur) who has an overall deal to develop, produce and star in original scripted and unscripted series with the studio. Acclaimed producer Gaston Pavlovich and his Mexico City-based production company Fabrica de Cine also have a development and production deal with the studio.

    Amazon Prime Video announced today that Súbete A Mi Moto, the 15-episode series about Puerto Rican pop group Menudo, will premiere on October 9th. Produced by Somos Productions, Endemol Shine Boomdog and Piñolywood Studios, Súbete A Mi Moto will be available to Prime Video clients in Mexico and Latin America.

    In 1977, in the small town of Caguas, Puerto Rico, an ambitious and skilled businessman named Edgardo Díaz created a group that laid the foundations for the boy bands that still exist today. Creating never-before-seen rules and a work style that had never been implemented, he developed a group that still today is a reference for all other Hispanic young bands, and triggered the solo careers of featured performers.

    With drama, passion, incredible stories and anthological songs that frame each episode, Súbete A Mi Moto will tell an adventure of epic proportions: the story of the youth phenomenon that forever revolutionized Latin pop music.

    Running through fifteen 60-min episodes, production of Súbete A Mi Moto took place in Mexico and Puerto Rico. The series stars Yamil Ureña and Braulio Castillo as Edgardo Díaz, Sian Chiong as Joselo Vega, Marisol Calero as Doña Panchi, Josette Vidal as Julieta Torres, and Rocío Verdejo as Renata Torres.

    Alongside the main cast, a talented group of young performers portray the band members including Felipe Albors and Ethan Schwartz (Ricky Martin), Marcelo Otaño and Eugenio Rivera (Ricky Meléndez), Samu Jove (Xavier Serbia), Gustavo Rosas (Sergio Blass), Alejandro Bermúdez (Rene Farrait), Leonel Otero (Johnny Lozada) and Mauro Hernández (Miguel Cancel), among others.

    Following the successful launchof DON’T in the U.S., Banijay Rights is bringing its hit comedic game show format to Mexico, teaming up with TV Azteca and EndemolShine Boomdog. The local adaption is set to start production this week.

     

    Locally known as Don’t: No lo Hagas, the Mexican series will be hosted by presenter and comedian, Adal Ramones, and is expected to launch in September on national broadcaster, Azteca Uno.

     

    Don’tis a physical comedy game show where families can win money by following one simple rule: Don’t do it. The show tests contestants through spectacular and impressive physical games, where the key is to overcome their instincts; it’s the ultimate test of mind, body and family bonds.

     

    A recent hit in the US for ABC Networks, the family-friendly format launched as the #1 show of the night on network television, won its slot for 18-49s and 25-54s.The 8 x 60’ series was produced by Banijay Studios North America, executive produced by Hollywood superstar, Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), and hosted by Adam Scott (Parks And Rec, Big Little Lies).

    Banijay Rights, the leading distribution arm of Banijay Group, today announces a new local adaptation of its Emmy Award-winning reality format, Survivor, in Mexico.

     

    Produced by Acun Medya for Mexican nationalbroadcaster, Azteca Uno, filming will take place in the Dominican Republic with the series due to launch later this summer. Arturo Islas has been confirmed as the host for Survivor Mexico.

     

    Acun Medya has already successfully produced 15 series of Survivor for broadcasters in Greece, Turkey and Romania.

     

    Since its launch in 1997 the Survivor franchise has seen more than 305 series filmed in 57 locations.  It has proven hugely popular with audiences worldwide, with multiple long-running series airing in Spain, Australia, Israel, Italy, South Africa, Benelux, Denmark, and Hungary.

     

    In recent weeks France has seen recording-breakingviewership, reaching an audience of over 7 million viewers. Whilst the format has continued to be a ratings juggernaut for 40 seasons in the US, this is the first time Survivor will be remade for a central American territory.
