    Banijay Kids & Family, the global leader in children’s entertainment, behind hit shows such as Totally Spies! and Mr Bean: The Animated Series, today announces further sales for its comedy-action series Shasha & Milo. ABC (Australia) and Télé-Québec (French Canada) are confirmed to air the show in deals secured by the company’s distribution arm which has recently been rebranded as Banijay Kids & Family Distribution.

    The 25 x 22’ and 12 x 2’-shorts are centred around 12-year-olds, Shasha and Milo, as they juggle their everyday lives, alongside their secret roles as the Crescent Island Guardians. Combining action and comedy, our protagonists are tasked with protecting the island from villainous cats and their plots to gain ultimate power, whilst navigating their own ability to transform between human, cat, and a formidable hybrid form.

    A Tiger Aspect Kids & Family property, the series has won numerous industry accolades, including multiple Children’s BAFTAs. The iconic series, which combines 2D cut-out style animation and photomontage with a children’s voice cast, is based on the award-winning picture book series by Lauren Child. There have been three seasons to-date, totalling 78×11’ and 2×22’ episodes, which first launched on CBeebies in 2005.

    Through Banijay Kids & Family’s distribution arm, Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution, POP (UK) and WildBrain’s Family Channel (Canada), have acquired the Zodiak Kids & Family France (part of Banijay Kids & Family) and Pingo Entertainment-produced series.

    Banijay Kids & Family today announces its distribution arm, Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution, will represent all four seasons of the animated family drama series, Moominvalley. Inspired by the much-loved Moomin stories by Tove Jansson, it is produced by Finnish production company Gutsy Animations in collaboration with YLE and Sky and, additionally, Viaplay for the fourth season.

    The Emmy®-nominated series brings the Moomins into 3D with a unique visual style combining high quality CGI and painterly effects. It is a whimsical, coming-of-age story of family and friendship, which explores humanity, relationships and emotions, as the Moomins work together to restore harmony to their titular home. The series also features a high-profile voice cast, including Rosamund Pike, Bel Powley, Warwick Davis, Matt Berry, Akiya Henry, Jennifer Saunders, Will Self, and Julian Barratt.

    The award-winning Finnish content creator Marika Makaroff is creative director of Moominvalley. The series director of the first two seasons is the Oscar®-winning Steve Box (The Curse of the Were-Rabbit). Season 3 is directed by the episode directors from previous seasons; Nigel Davies, Sara Barbas (Final Call), Darren Robbie (Doc McStuffins) and Jay Grace (Shaun the Sheep). Season 4 series director is Nigel Davis (Shaun the Sheep Movie). Season 1 is produced by the BAFTA®-winning producer John Woolley (Shaun the Sheep), Season 2 by Louise Holmes (Shaun of the Sheep) and Seasons 3 and 4 by Stephen Dorrance (Happy!). Head writers for the first three seasons are the Emmy®-winning writing duo Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler (Peter Rabbit). Season 4 head writer is Diana Whitley (House of Anubis).

    The 3D animation is made at Anima Vitae – a Finnish animation studio located in Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The score music is composed by the acclaimed percussionist Samuli Kosminen, multi-instrumentalist Jarmo Saari and violinist Pekka Kuusisto.

    Banijay Kids & Family, the global leader in children’s entertainment, behind hit shows such as Totally Spies! and Mr Bean: The Animated Series, today announces the appointment of Roubina Tchoboian as Head of Global Licensing.

    Reporting into Banijay Kids & Family’s Chief Commercial Officer, Delphine Dumont, Tchoboian will be responsible for growing the international licensing portfolio for the division’s brands, which includes animated spy-fi franchise Totally Spies!, upcoming CGI series Shasha & Milo, and iconic preschool brand Topo Gigio.

    Tchoboian joins the company from Cloudco Entertainment (formerly American Greetings) where she was Vice President of International Licensing, responsible for driving international partnerships for brands such as Care Bears and Holly Hobbie. Prior to that she held roles working across the sales teams at Zodiak Rights and BSkyB.

    Banijay Kids and Family, part of content powerhouse Banijay, today announces a partnership with Belgian publisher Editions Dupuis, part of Média-Participations, to transform the hit spy-fi animation, Totally Spies!, into a unique webtoon for digital platform ONO.

    An increasingly popular genre of comics, developed for digital smartphone reading, the vertical strips will bring the characters of Totally Spies! to a new medium. The webtoon will be available as a weekly serialisation in French, and available for foreign rights.

    2D-animated franchise Totally Spies!, produced by Zodiak Kids & Family France, is set to return to screens in 2024 with a brand-new series, following its original six-season run between 2001 and 2013. The upcoming series follows the three legendary secret agents, Sam, Clover and Alex, as they move to a new city and take on a fresh crop of villains.

    Banijay Kids and Family today confirms the appointment of Lizzy Gray as Brands and Marketing Director. In the new role, she will be responsible for devising, executing and overseeing the overall global brand and marketing strategy for the business’ standout portfolio of titles.

    Gray joins from eOne where she served as Vice President, Global Brand Marketing, My Little Pony. Her previous roles include global brand management and marketing positions at Mattel, Inc, HIT Entertainment, BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company, where she worked on global brands including Thomas & Friends, BBC Earth and Dancing with the Stars.

    Banijay Kids and Family today announces a raft of sales for the all-new pre-school animated comedy series Mumfie (78×7’). A co-production between Zodiak Kids and Family France and Italian animation studio Animoka, alongside France Télévisions and Rai (Italy), the series has sold to ITV for ITVBe (UK), Warner Bros. Discovery (for its new preschool brand Cartoonito in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and South Korea), AMC Network International’s JimJam (CEE, MENA & Portugal), SVT (Sweden) and kids channel ejunior, from evision, part of e& life from e& (formerly known as Etisalat Group) (UAE).

    Earlier this month, Mumfie was awarded Best Pre-School TV Series at the 2022 Cartoons on the Bay Pulcinella Awards. Directed by Daniel Dubuis, the adaptation is based on Britt Allcroft’s Magic Adventures of Mumfie. The series has recently launched in France and Italy, and it was previously announced that Mumfie has also secured a pre-sale from KiKA Germany.

    Britt Allcroft’s Mumfie was a classically animated children’s musical series, first shown in the 1990’s. The series was lauded for its gentle storytelling and earned top ratings.

    Zodiak Kids and Family Distribution, part of Banijay Kids and Family, today announces it has secured a raft of pre-sales for its brand-new drama Silverpoint. Zodiak Kids and Family UK are producing Silverpoint, a 13 x 22’ sci-fi mystery adventure series about four kids at a summer camp set in the middle of nowhere for CBBC and ZDF and it has been pre-sold to Canal+ (France), Hulu (US) and ABC (Australia).

    CBBC are launching the series this coming weekend on their channel (5pm, 6th March) the full series will run in this Sunday afternoon slot for 12 weeks. They are simultaneously launching the whole series on BBC iPlayer. Silverpoint will launch internationally this spring/summer. 

    In the middle of the night at an adventure camp called Silverpoint, four kids stumble upon something buried in the woods… something impossible… something that will send their lives and the world around them spiralling out of control.

    The series is created by Lee Walters, Lead Writer, and Executive Producers, Benoit Di Sabatino and Steven Andrew. The series is produced by Trevor Klein, the lead director is Dan Zeff.

    Banijay Group’s Zodiak Kids has secured a package deal for over 250 episodes of its content with Chinese Video-Streaming Service, Youku. Youku, which is a division of e-commerce giant Alibaba, has more than 500 million monthly active users, with 800 million daily video views.

    The Youku package includes Zodiak Kids Studios brand new production Lilybuds 52 x 11’, which launched on Sony’s Tiny Pop channel in the UK last month; Tee and Mo (50 x 7’) the CBeebies hit from Plug-in Media; Magiki the 52 x 11’ series based on the best-selling figurines range by DeAgostini; and Sammy & Co series 1 and 2 (104 x 11’) the aquatic animated adventure series.

    The Lilybuds are tiny, magical gardeners who live under our noses, undetected, in an urban oasis called Garden Park. This friendly community of eight works tirelessly and passionately to create lush, colourful landscapes in every season, under extraordinary circumstances.

     

    Magiki is a fantasy land of ditzy fairies and sassy mermaids where Princess Billie explores real world issues of fairness, sibling rivalry and self-confidence.

     

    Tee and Mo follows the adventures of a fun-loving three-year-old monkey, Tee, and first-time super-mum, Mo, as they navigate the swings and roundabouts of their life together, learning what it takes to be a son and mum.
