Banijay today announces an innovative deal with Renaud Capuçon to nurture new classical music talent for the local and global stage. Traditionally a world-leading content producer and developer, the former is extending its remit to work with the internationally-renowned artist in providing the tools and support needed by new artists to forge a successful career in classical music.

Fronted by Renaud Capuçon – who will lend his first-hand experience and established network – the initiative will be dedicated to delivering coaching, advice and management to the next generation of soloists. Sitting as a producer, he will be on-hand to elevate performers that are yet to be fully discovered and to produce classical music concerts in France and beyond.

In an industry which is hard to break, the partnership is tailored to facilitating everything from meetings with conductors and composers, the work and preparation of chamber music concerts and positioning soloists at the frontline of national orchestras, securing opportunities at festivals, and giving experience of life on-tour.  Additionally, the scheme will aid talent in carving out their own standout image to enhance their prospects on stage and in recording.

Capuçon has enjoyed an international career, which, to date, has spanned 25 years, 20 years of which have seen him handling the artistic direction of classical festivals, and a further eight years teaching. A French violinist, he is engrained in the classical music scene as a major soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Having performed around the world, collaborated with musical greats and built an extensive discography, with Banijay, he is keen to discover and develop new talent for audiences in France and around the globe.

Capitalising on Banijay’s 22-territory-strong producer network, the deal will likely expand in the future into on-screen performance production. For now, the pair, through their shared passion for developing talent in the arts, will concentrate on disarming the barriers standing between gifted soloists and a career in classical music.
