Banijay Media Germany Takes Beat the Star Creator Version to Twitch and YouTube
September 25, 2026
Banijay Germany today announces the first creator-led version of popular format, Schlag den Star (Beat the Star), which will launch on YouTube and Twitch on Monday 26 October. The new live event spectacular, Schlag den Aaron (Beat Aaron), is produced by Banijay Germany label, Brainpool, with Banijay Media Germany handling marketing.
The Banijay Entertainment format, originally created by Brainpool, sees candidates attempt to beat a celebrity in a number of disciplines to win a cash prize. In this new adaptation, popular YouTube star, Aaron Troschke, will be joined by fellow YouTube influencer Marvin Wildhage, as they face-off against Twitch stars Zarbex and Max Schradin. Beat Aaron will be broadcast live simultaneously on the YouTube channels of Troschke and Wildhage, and the Twitch channels of Zarbex and Schradin, for a cross-platform live event viewers can experience together with their communities on their preferred channels.
Aaron Troschke, presenter, and content creator says: “When I appeared in the anniversary episode of Beat the Star in February, I knew I wanted to do it again. In Beat Aaron, I have Marvin by my side, and in Zarbex and Max, two opponents who definitely won’t go easy on us. The real studio setting, distinct personalities, and our communities watching live – that’s the winning mix. Now Marvin and I just have to make sure the title doesn’t become a self-fulfilling prophecy…”
Christian Nienaber, Managing Director of Banijay Media Germany adds: “Beat Aaron brings together elements that, in our view, are a perfect match: one of Germany’s strongest entertainment brands with a significant following, creators with massive reach, powerful brands, and new distribution channels. We are combining the production values and emotional appeal of a major studio show, with the intimacy and interactivity of the creator world, creating entirely new opportunities for brands to become part of the content.”
Beat Aaron complements Banijay Entertainment’s ongoing activities in the digital landscape which, following the merger with All3Media, plays home to a scaled digital business with Little Dot Studios and Banijay Rights. Recent examples from across the group on Twitch include a Fort Boyard collaboration with French streamer Domingo, multiple seasons of German Big Brother spin-off, Big Brother – Knossi Edition, and The Bov Boys’ 24-hour Big Brother UK livestream.
