Banijay Entertainment today confirms Patrick Holland as Executive Chairman and CEO of Banijay UK following its recent merger with All3Media. Reporting to Banijay Entertainment CEO, Marco Bassetti, his strategic leadership responsibilities now span the majority of the combined UK portfolio, (Banijay UK), which in its entirety comprises around 40 creative labels. Producing some of the country’s most-renowned new and returning titles, the business works with all major broadcasters, streamers and platforms and is responsible for over 2000 hours of content annually.

The combined group continues to represent a portfolio of entrepreneurial labels, that preserve the creative independence, culture and leadership that underpin their success while benefiting from the scale and resources of a larger organisation.

Holland joined Banijay UK in May 2022 and has driven consecutive growth year-on-year, overseeing a slate of high profile and award-winning productions. Recent launches include Half Man (BBC/HBO), House of Guinness (Netflix), Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Netflix) and Last One Laughing (Prime Video) with retuning series including The Buccaneers (Apple TV+), Peaky Blinders (BBC/ Netflix), SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC), MasterChef (BBC), Big Brother (ITV), Ambulance (BBC), Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and many more. Upcoming tiles include All or Nothing (Prime Video), Beautiful Obsession (Prime Video), Netflix, Will You Marry Me? (Netflix) and Reputation (BBC).

During his tenure, Holland has strategically structured the UK group as the industry navigates seismic changes in demand, technology and funding, investing in talent, growing the streamer business and pushing into new growth areas.

Launching the Banijay UK Growth fund in 2023, set up to invest in both emerging and established creative talent, the local business has built a robust stable of investments, talent deals and creative partnerships. Alongside M&A activity, including the acquisition of The Forge (2023) and Garrison Drama (2024), the scripted business has grown significantly and built a reputation as a home for the UK’s best creative talent and IP.

Under his leadership, Banijay UK won Best Production Group at the Edinburgh TV Festival (2024) and was recognised as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work (2026).

Holland joined Banijay UK from the BBC, where he was Director, Factual, Arts & Classical Music (appointed April 2021) and prior to this Channel Controller of BBC Two (appointed March 2017). As Channel Controller, he oversaw the revitalisation of BBC Two, and its journey in building an unparalleled pipeline of series that graduated to BBC One. Under his leadership, the channel won channel of the year awards at both the Edinburgh TV Awards and Broadcast Awards.

Prior to joining BBC Two, Holland was Head of Commissioning, Documentaries for the BBC, and was managing director of one of the UK’s biggest factual independent production companies, Boundless (part of Fremantle Media UK).

Last year he was awarded a Royal Television Society Fellowship for his outstanding and exceptional contribution to the industry.
