Sarah Jessica Parker Exec-produced Film Following Ukrainian Ballet Dancers’ Mission To Dance To Stream Exclusively On Marquee TV

Front Row streams exclusively on Marquee TV from 8 December 2025 following deal with Banijay Rights

The documentary follows a front-line solider who lost both legs in the war, and a group of exiled Ukrainian ballet dancers as they dance to keep their culture alive amidst invasion

Front Row is streaming exclusively on Marquee TV, the global streaming service for the arts, from 8 December 2025. Executive produced by Emmy-award winning actress and producer Sarah Jessica Parker and directed by Miriam Guttmann, the film is produced by Scenery, a joint venture with Banijay Benelux, in partnership with Parker’s Pretty Matches Productions in collaboration with Banijay Rights.

In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, this group of young ballet dancers found themselves exiled in the Netherlands. In the face of trauma, war, and displacement, they formed the new United Ukrainian Ballet Company. Front Row is the extraordinary story of how they came together to keep their Ukrainian culture alive.

The documentary closely follows a frontline soldier who lost both his legs at war in a battle with Russia on the Ukrainian border. With freshly fitted prosthetics, the former soldier turns to ballet.

Front Row is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the unbroken power of human creativity, and a reminder of the devastating impact of war. In one of the film’s many moving moments, we see video calls between the dancers and their families back home who are still living through the invasion.

Sarah Jessica Parker says: “Front Row is a heartrending and inspiring reflection on the power of art, following an extraordinary company of dancers as they confront the realities of war. It is a true privilege to share this film with audiences around the world.”

Front Row is the latest in a string of groundbreaking projects from award-winning director Miriam Guttmamn whose work across film and photography consistently platforms voices marginalised by injustice and war. Her 2021 documentary Seeds of Deceit was the first Dutch series ever to premiere at Sundance, before being picked up by BBC Four.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Alison Benson are producing via Pretty Matches Productions.

Front Row is made possible with the support of the Netherlands Film Production Incentive and Banijay Rights, which will globally distribute the title. The documentary is produced by Lea Fels and Isidoor Roebers, from Scenery. Sarah Jessica Parker and Alison Benson executive produce for Pretty Matches Productions, with co-executive producer Claire Demere and associate producer Gaby Edwards. The film is supported by executive producers The Ruderman Foundation and Bart Meuter.

Cecilia Beacon, VP of Content and Marketing, said: “Front Row is an extraordinary exploration of resilience and strength told through the universal language of performance. Under Sarah Jessica Parker’s guidance as producer, the documentary shines a light on how art persists and can even flourish in times of crisis. At Marquee TV, we’re proud to bring this remarkable story to our audiences and to continue championing work that reflects the courage, humanity and joy at the heart of the performing arts.”
