Content powerhouse Banijay Entertainment today confirms an all-new brand-funded reality entertainment series from Shine Iberia Portugal (part of Banijay Iberia). Mistura Beirão, created in partnership with premium Portuguese liqueur Licor Beirão and broadcaster TVI, launches Saturday 15 June.
The series, presented by Maria Cerqueira Gomes and Rui Simões, and judged by drinks expert, Jaime Montgomery, sets out to discover the best cocktail maker in Portugal. 10 professionals put their skills and creativity to the test, in a unique competition show which will crown the best mixologist in Portugal, offering them the chance to attend the renowned European Bartender School in New York.
Macarena Rey, CEO, Shine Iberia, says: “We have strong expertise in producing premium talent/competition formats in Portugal with the likes of MasterChef, and creating world class branded entertainment, such as Hairstyle: The Talent Show with Alfaparf Milano Professional. Mistura Beirão is a fun, fresh take on this genre, and the incorporation of Licor Beirão, in partnership with TVI, has allowed us to explore a new field of expertise, with some extremely gifted and creative contestants.”
Since 2012, Shine Iberia has created great television hits in Spain and Portugal, producing home-grown content, as well as local adaptations from Banijay’s diverse catalogue and those from third-party companies. Multi-award-winning entertainment and factual formats like MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Celebrity MasterChef and Anything Goes, alongside hits like Sewing Bee and The Voice Portugal, engage television audiences and critics, and have proven social media success. Shine Iberia also creates premium branded content such as Hairstyle: The Talent Show, producing five local versions covering Spain, Italy, the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. It recently moved into scripted programming with the biopic Bosé, a collaboration with Elefantec Global and Legacy Rock for Paramount+.
Recently Banijay Entertainment confirmed its ambitions to further expand its brand-funded portfolio, with the unveiling of Banijay Branded Entertainment (BBE). A new division within the group, BBE is overseen by Head of Branded Entertainment Business Development, Carlotta Rossi Spencer, and will leverage Banijay Entertainment’s expansive global production expertise to further evolve the group’s global efforts in the branded content space.
