Banijay today announces that Gestmusic, part of Banijay Iberia, has unveiled a new Barcelona-based production venue for the industry, specifically for creating virtual environments.
With a dedicated screen space, Gestmusic’s studio integrates virtual environments in which to design and record audio-visual projects, from commercials to television programmes, across fiction and entertainment. The company also works with specialists in developing content in Unreal Engine, which can support any virtual production in the space with its expertise in creating virtual settings, characters, animations and visual effects.
Tinet Rubira, Managing Director, Gestmusic, said: “As a company that is always pushing tech boundaries in our productions, we identified a big gap in the market for this type of facility. With this launch we can benefit from, and offer the wider industry, increased efficiency and precision in the production process, because it allows different teams to work in a shared virtual environment. We hope this space can help cement Spain’s reputation as a forward-thinking and innovative creative hub.”
The state-of-the-art set is more than 400m2, with a main LED screen of 100m2 and 30m2 height to ceiling, with the latest in P2 and HDR technology of up to 1000 nits. This huge virtual screen enables content makers to create fully customisable and real-life scenery on a set with advanced lighting and sound equipment, and experienced technical support.
Gestmusic, a part of Banijay Iberia, is Spain’s leading producer of big music, entertainment and game shows. Founded over 30 years ago, the production company is responsible for over 100 formats in Spain and has created international hits such as Your Big Day, Your Face Sounds Familiar and The Money Drop.
The move follows Banijay’s launch of a studio complex in Brazil via Endemol Shine Brasil in a deal led Ben Samek, President and Chief Operating Officer, Banijay Americas, Endemol Shine Latino President Laurens Drillich and Endemol Shine Brasil CEO Nani Freitas. Based in São Paulo, Banijay Studios Brasil will welcome third-party TV and film clients alike.
