Banijay Group Germany launches under leadership of Marcus Wolter

1 August, 2018

Banijay Group, the world’s largest independent content producer and distributor, today announces the launch of Banijay Germany. Led by recently announced CEO and co-shareholder, Marcus Wolter, the business sits across operations at Brainpool and Banijay Productions Germany.

In the newly formed role, Wolter will collaborate closely with Banijay Productions’ Arno Schneppenheim, who was confirmed as Managing Director in March. Under his leadership, the German production label has already secured a strong and diverse slate and exhibited positive signs of growth. Leading titles to date include a new international version of French adventure gameshow, Fort Boyard for Sat1; primetime show, The Ehrlich Brothers Present: Showdown of the World’s Best Magicians for RTL; and stand-up comedy show, Stand Up 3000 for Viacom’s Comedy Central. And, with the business in a key phase of development, further projects are set to be announced later this year.

Marcus Wolter comments: “As the entertainment industry continues to thrive and the global pool of content buyers expands, there could not be a better time to be investing in the market. In Banijay Productions and Brainpool, we have two fantastic production brands and I am looking forward to partnering with the teams to bring new, high-quality shows to the German masses. In developing IP with strong international appeal, we want Banijay Group Germany to become the renowned home of the best producers, artists and creators.”
