Juan Ramón Gonzalo Carballal upped to new Director General at Banijay’s Cuarzo Productions

Juan Ramón Gonzalo Carballal has been named Director General of Cuarzo Productions, a Banijay Group company, in Spain.  Previously Director of Content since 2015, Carballal will now be responsible for the company’s entire output and lead the management team across all areas of Cuarzo’s business.

Marco Bassetti, CEO Banijay Group, in announcing the appointment, comments, “This is a clear indication of our commitment to continue to grow our business in Spain.  Juan Ramón is extremely talented and his new remit will mean that Cuarzo can further develop and deliver programming across multiple genres to our clients in Spain.”

Juan Ramón Gonzalo Carballal adds, “I am very excited to become Director General of the company. As well as working with our broadcast clients we have so much opportunity to create and produce programming with wide appeal, through our collaboration with our Banijay Group creative partners.”

An award-winning producer, Juan Ramón Gonzalo Carballal has worked for numerous channels and producers in Spain.  From 2006 to 2010 he was Director of Las Mananas de Cuatro with Concha García Campoy; in 2011 he was Director of Supernanny and Director of Conexión Samanta.  He led the Ana Rosa Programa on Telecinco up until 2014.  During this time he became Assistant Director of News for La Sexta and was Director of the La Sexta Night Programme.
