Stéphane Courbit

Chairman

Stéphane Courbit is a French entrepreneur, Chairman of Banijay Group. He started his career as producer for Coyote. In 1994, he formed a partnership with TV producer and host Arthur to create Case Productions, later called ASP Productions. In 1998, Endemol merged with ASP Productions to form Endemol France, Stéphane Courbit was appointed CEO. In 2006, he sold his shares before leaving the group in 2007 to create LOV Group with the ambition to position LOV Group at the heart of growing markets such as audiovisual production, luxury hotels, the Internet and energy sectors. In January 2008, he created Banijay Group, in 2016 the merger between Banijay Group and Zodiak Media makes him head of one of the largest audiovisual production companies in the world.

Marco Bassetti

CEO

In the early 1980s, Marco Bassetti started working as executive producer for Mondadori's Rete Quattro, later moving to Mediaset. In 1986, he founded his own production company La Italiana Produzioni, and in 1989, he founded Aran. From 1994 to 1997, he was CEO of Pearson TV Italy. In December 1997, he founded Endemol Italy and worked as Managing Director and then President until May 2004 when stepped down in order to dedicate more time to several entrepreneurial activities in Italy and abroad. He remains a member of Endemol's International Board. In October 2007, he returned to Endemol Group as COO and in August 2009, was appointed President of the Endemol Group, then he took over the responsibility of CEO of the Group. He stepped down at Endemol in April 2012. He founded a new company, Ambra Multimedia, in November 2012. In April 2013 he joined Banijay Group as CEO.

Peter Langenberg 

COO

Based in London and Paris, Peter is the Chief Operating Officer for Banijay Group. He was appointed to the role in November 2016 and is responsible for the Banijay Group operations in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Russia, India and the Netherlands next to his focus on building synergies and increasing development opportunities. Prior to joining Banijay Group, Peter was VP Business Management at Warner Bros International TV Production, a role he held from 2011 to 2016. Before that he was COO for R&D Media Holding and 3 Circles Media Holding. Peter also spent ten years with Endemol, where his roles included Executive Director of Operations for Latin America and later for the entire Endemol Group, and most recently as Managing Director Entertainment for Endemol Nederland B.V.

Sophie Kurinckx

Group CFO

Sophie Kurinckx started her career in 2000 as an auditor for KPMG. In 2005, she joined JCDecaux as Deputy Head of Group consolidation and Group IFRS specialist. Sophie joined Banijay Group in 2010 as Head of Group Financial Controls, in 2012 she was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer.

Nicolas Chazarain

Group Chief Legal Officer

Nicolas Chazarain is the Group Chief Legal Officer, he was appointed to this role in July 2017. Prior to joining Banijay Group, Nicolas was a M&A and corporate lawyer. As partner at De Gaulle, Fleurance & Associés until 2017, he was involved in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate law, securities law, as well as in restructuring distressed companies. Before that, Nicolas exercised at Slaughter and May in Paris and London and Bredin Prat in Paris.

Marie Schweitzer

EVP Strategy & Business Development

Marie Schweitzer is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. She was appointed to this role in September 2016. Marie joined Banijay Group at its launch in 2008, as co-Head of Market Research. Since then, she held various positions in the company including Head of Creative Factory – the central unit of creation and development of formats, Content Manager and lately Head of Content, overseeing development and circulation of Group formats. Prior to join Banijay, Marie worked at Endemol France. After a couple of years in production she was appointed Head of Market Research. Marie also holds a seminar at Sciences Po Paris (Master in Communications) entitled « The International Market of TV Formats: Fundamentals and Challenges ».

Tim Mutimer

Head of Distribution

Tim Mutimer is Head of Distribution for Banijay Group and has been appointed CEO at Banijay Rights in 2016, the international distribution arm of Banijay Group. He is responsible for teams in London, Paris and Copenhagen handling sales and acquisitions for programming across all genres. Tim joined the former Zodiak Rights in 2013 from BBC Worldwide where he led and developed sales strategies for key global brands such as Top Gear and Sherlock. Prior to his tenure at the BBC he was Director of Sales at ITV Global Entertainment leading global content sales and international format launches for diverse programme hits such as Poirot, Prime Suspect and Come Dine With Me.

Lionel Abbo

Global Head of Digital

Lionel Abbo joined Banijay Group in June 2017 as Global Head of Digital. Prior to joining Banijay Group, Lionel was Deputy Managing Director in charge of Creation Development and digital at Shine France from 2009 to 2017, working on TV hits such as The Voice, MasterChef, Prodiges or the Island. Lionel started his career as a producer for MTV Networks before joining the development team at Endemol France, where he has participated to the launch of Endemol’s Brand Content new department. Following Endemol he was Head of Content at Tribal DDB Paris, where he sold and managed content and digital communication operations for the company’s main clients including Lipton, Nike, Bouygues and French Navy.

Lucas Green

Head of Content

Lucas Green joined Banijay Group in January 2018. Prior to join the group, he was Head of Development at Thames, the Fremantle UK label responsible for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, where he helped launch new prime time entertainment formats as well as revivals of Blankety Blank and The Price is Right. At Thames he was responsible for the creation, development and pitching of all new formats, focusing on entertainment, factual entertainment, quiz, game and reality. Before joining Thames, Lucas co-founded his own successful start-up, Superhero Television. Prior to that he was Head of Development at Princess Productions.

Carlotta Rossi Spencer

Head of Format Acquisitions

Carlotta was appointed Head of Format Acquisitions at the Banijay Group in January 2016. Based in London, she seeks and acquires third party formats to be adapted by Banijay Group’s global network of production companies. Before this, in 2013, Carlotta had joined the newly created Italian company Ambra Multimedia as Head of the Format department and, after six months when Ambra became a Banijay company, was appointed to oversee format acquisitions for all the French subsidiaries of the Banijay Group. Carlotta has also held format development and acquisitions roles at Wilder, part of Fox Italy’s network, and Sony Italy (Toro). She opened her own consultancy in 2011, advising and working with international format creators and producers.
