Banijay Studios North America, who opened their Los Angeles based headquarters in April 2014, creates original network, syndicated, and cable programming. They also adapt and develop Banijay International’s hits for the U.S. market.
Respected television innovators David Goldberg and Caroline Baumgard, the executives who created, produced, and shepherded some of the most successful unscripted formats in the world, including Big Brother, two-time Emmy Award® winning series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Deal or No Deal, Fear Factor, award-winning fan favorite Wipeout, and the Emmy Award® winning hit syndicated daytime series Steve Harvey, have reunited to develop original content across multiple genres for the recently formed Banijay Studios North America (BSNA). The studio is a well-capitalized, creative company that further expands Banijay’s footprint in the U.S.
In addition, BSNA has numerous projects in various stages at multiple channels.
David is CEO of Banijay Studios North America. Prior to joining Banijay in 2014, Goldberg served as Chairman and CEO of Endemol North America, the company he launched in 2000. Under Goldberg’s leadership, Endemol NA developed and produced some of the most popular primetime programming in North America, including ABC’s Emmy® Award winning series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition; NBC’s Fear Factor, ABC’s Wipeout, NBC’s Deal or No Deal, CBS’s Big Brother and the syndicated hit talk show, Steve Harvey. Goldberg guided Endemol NA’s strategic move to grow the company’s US footprint with the acquisitions of Authentic Entertainment, 51 Minds, Original Media and True Entertainment and the creation of Endemol North America’s scripted studio.
Caroline joined Banijay in May 2014 to serve as Chief Creative Officer, Banijay Studios North America. Baumgard is responsible for the overall development and management of all original programming and international format adaptations produced by Banijay Studios North America. Prior to joining Banijay, Baumgard was Executive Vice President of Development at Endemol USA. She joined Endemol when the company launched in 2001. During her 13-year tenure at Endemol, she was instrumental in building Endemol USA into one of the most successful producers of reality television by developing and selling original series, including the two-time Emmy® award-winning series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC) and the hit competition series Wipeout (ABC), game show Deal or No Deal to NBC and launched Steve Harvey, the Daytime Emmy® award-winning series. Baumgard’s push to get Endemol USA into cable was solidified by developing franchises and selling successful series including Jerseylicious, Glam Fairy and Chicagolicious.
